Golkar Party Ready to Accept DPR's Decision

Padangekspres.net-Chairman of Golkar Party's Advisory Board, Akbar Tandjung, said Golkar Party has yet to take which stance they will choose as regards the plan of fuel price rise.
“Golkar offers chances to raise subsidies. It doesn't matter whether or not the subsidies are to be allocated to the fuel price hike. It’s in the hands of the government to take the decision,” said Akbar on Friday.

Regarding the fuel price hike, Akbar called for all factions to express their views without putting any pressures. Should the House’s Plenary Meeting decide to increase fuel prices, it must be accepted as a consequence of democracy.
He said that if the House of Representatives (DPR) agree to grant the subsidy, Golkar would nod to the fuel price rise.
“If the fuel prices go up, the government must take anticipative measures so that we can implement the gas conversion program,” he said.
Two options will be discussed in the Plenary Meeting today. First, Rp225 trillion of energy subsidy will be disbursed with the folowing details: fuel subsidy (Rp137 trillion), electricity subsidy (Rp65 trillion), and energy fiscal risk supply (Rp23 trillion). These options will allow the government to increase fuel prices.
Second, Rp266 trillion of energy subsidy can be prepared: fuel subsidy (Rp178 trillion), electricity subsidy (Rp65 trillion), and energy fiscal risk supply (Rp23 trillion). These options will maintain the current fuel prices.
Moreover, the House of Representatives will also discuss Article 7 section 6 of 2012 State Budget Law that has become the foundation of fuel subsidy. The government wants this article to be revoked in order to increase fuel prices.
