Padangekspres.net-Two Indonesian students studying in Yaman were reported dead from
gunshots following sectarian conflicts between the rebel Syiah Houthi
and Salafi Sunni sect in the country.
Foreign Affairs Ministry
spokesman, Michael Tene, confirmed this information. “We have found out
the identity of these two students,” he said, today, Nov 30.
Tene did not mention the identity of the students. “They were from Medan, North Sumatra and Aceh,” he said.
The
bodies will not be sent home to Indonesia. “By the approval of family
members and the hard condition there, the bodies have been buried in
Yaman,” Tene explained.
Besides the two dead victims, Tene also
confirmed the information that two other Indonesian citizen injured.
“Correct, there are injured people. They are being hospitalized there”.
As reported in news agency Xinhua, there at least 24 people dead in the collision between groups in Yaman.
“The
shootings targeted Muslim school managed by Sunni sect and other
surrounding areas in Damaj, north of Houthi, Saada Province”, said one
of the officials to Xinhua. “There were 24 casualties, including
three foreign students – two from Indonesia, another one is a US citizen.”• VIVAnews
