Nazaruddin Charged of Receiving Rp4.6 Bn

Padangekspres.net-Former Treasurer of Democratic Party, Muhammad Nazaruddin, is charged for receiving money from the Marketing Manager of PT Duta Graha Indah (DGI) M El Idris worth Rp4.675 billion.

“It is alleged that the gift is a compensation of PT DGI's appointment on the construction of Wisma Atlet,” said First Prosecutor Kadek Wiradana in the trial of bribery accusation of SEA GAMES Wisma Atlet at the Anti-corruption Court, Nov 30.

Nazaruddin and PT DGI, according to the prosecutor, agreed that the accused would receive a commitment fee of 13 percent of the total project value of Rp191 billion.

The prosecutor also said that Nazaruddin may as well be suspected to set up the deal so that PT DGI won the project.

“The accused also asked the House of Representatives (DPR) member Angelina Sondakh to enable Mindo Rosalina Manulang (Rosa) be involved in a project in Sesmenpora,” said the prosecutor. As an answer, Angelina then called for Nazaruddin to coordinate with Sesmenpora Wafid Muharam.

Wafid, when met by Nazaruddin stated that it was not a problem as long as everything has been approved by DPR members. “It is clear. It has been approved by DPR,” the prosecutor quoted Nazaruddin’s statement in 2010.

After the prosecutor read the accusation, Nazaruddin made a comment. “I do not get the indictment,” he said.

Today, Nazaruddin is in his first trial for the accusation of Wisma Atlet construction bribery. In this trial, OC Kaligis, a lawyer that used to assist him, did not show up.• VIVAnews
