Oldest High School in Pesisir Sekatan Needs Improvement

Padangekspres.net-Central building of High School (SMA) 01 Lengayang, Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatera, requires the attention of the government to make improvements which have been badly damaged. 

Head of SMA 01 Lengayang, Ajis Masrul in Painan, on Tuesday, said the circumstance of the school building is now very bad that need improvement. 


Most of the floors in classes of that school have been loss and broken. Likewise with the foundation and the roof of building was heavily damaged. 

According to Ajis Masrul, conditions that make teaching and learning activities in schools disrupted. When the weather is not good as rain and high winds the students who were carrying out the teaching and learning activities were forced to leave the room for fear of being overridden collapse of building materials. 

According to him, from the 16 total study classes in that oldest high school, seven of them are severely damaged. Almost from the whole room was broken urged to do repairs. 
In addition to teaching and learning activities disrupt, damage to the room to learn is also concerned about the safety of students and teachers. 

"Teachers and students are no longer comfortable in carrying out local activities. Gust of wind seemed to be demolished building. One by one roof class is already beginning to fall," he said. 

On December 2011 the school was more severe damage on the foundation, and the roof of the building fallen due to hit by a tornado. With self-help, the school has done their best to repair it again after disaster can be occupied for the teaching and learning activities to date. 

"We really hope the attention of all parties, not just the government but it''s own high school graduates who have a lot of acting in various places, whether in government, SOE, private enterprises and for the construction of this school," he said. 

He admitted, the school cannot do much to repair the damaged seven classrooms because of budgetary constraints. (* / jun / jno)
