Indonesia LIPI Signs Deal with Australia's UQ

Padangekspres.net-The Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI) today signed a research partnership with University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, on Science and Technology. Prof. Dr. Lukman Hakim represented LIPI while Prof. Deborah Terry acted in place of UQ.  
The alliance between LIPI and UQ includes joint research projects, staff development, and post-graduate study programs. 
“There will be exchanges of scientists, organization of joint seminars and workshops, and other alliances approved by both parties,” said Lukman. 

The MoU is valid for five years. This alliance can be extended and renewed after being reviewed by the end of the period. 
“The purpose of the alliance is to promote LIPI’s and UQ’s scientific activities through research and various other exchanges,” he added. 
This LIPI-UQ alliance project covers almost all fields of science, including basic research fields, such as natural sciences, engineering sciences, and social sciences. 
“This alliance will be prioritized in a strategic field in line with both parties,” he said. 
The alliance with UQ will focus on researches on biotechnology.  UQ will also visit LIPI’s biotechnology research center in Cibinong. This alliance is expected to provide contribution to the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia.
