Padangekspres.net-Promising Indonesian racer Rio Haryanto is aiming to race in GP2 next year, as part of a long shot to compete in the most prestigious racing competition, Formula One, by 2014.
“I want to try to race in GP2 for about two years starting next year, and I want to learn as much as possible before I can join Formula One in 2014,” Rio said on Tuesday as quoted by Kompas.com.
He said he realized that the challenge of competing in Formula One was very stiff because every year many racers from GP2 were competing to qualify for Formula One.
Rio said that he wanted to maximize his ability in GP2 that used almost the same engine as Formula One.
