A two-year-old boy and a 63-year-old man were on the front verandah of the woman’s house in Morobe Street, Sorrento when she drove her car into the driveway and attempted to park on the front lawn.
Police believe the woman hit the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the car to plough into the verandah and hit the pair.

Paramedics tried to revive the child but he died at the scene.
Paramedic team manager Russell Calley said the boy had suffered a large cut to the head and internal injuries.
‘‘The two-year-old boy was initially unconscious after the accident, although his conscious state improved slightly when we arrived three minutes later,’’ Mr Calley said.
‘‘He was treated by paramedics for more than an hour but tragically he died at the scene.’’
The man suffered serious fractures to an arm, which was crushed in the crash, and had chest injuries.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner. This death will not be recorded on the road toll due to the location of the crash.
In a separate incident, a five-year-old boy has died after being hit by a truck at Port Fairy this morning, as the first week of school holidays gets underway.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the accident happened near Albert Street just before 8am on the Princes Highway.
The boy died at the scene. A report will be prepared for the state coroner.
The children's deaths come three weeks after a five-year-old boy was killed when his father ran over him at his Melton South home.
The accident on September 5 was witnessed by the boy’s brother.
